Board Directors (Volunteer)

The Green Institute is seeking suitably qualified applicants to join our Board of Directors. The successful applicants will help contribute to the strategic direction and vision of the organisation. We are specifically seeking applicants with competencies and experience to help manage the Board’s responsibilities in the following areas: 

  • Governance
  • Employment
  • Legal
  • Fundraising; and
  • Event coordination

About the Green Institute

The basic object of the association is to educate about, research and promote Green political and policy ideas, founded on the principles of ecological wisdom, social justice, participatory democracy, nonviolence, sustainability and respect for diversity. 

Expectations

While these roles are all voluntary, we are seeking new board directors who share our Green values and are prepared to contribute at least an hour a week toward the work we do. We meet once per month online for approximately one hour. Directors may also contribute via subcommittees as needed. All directors are expected to attend the monthly meetings and contribute to other activities where available, including regular strategic planning sessions. Board director terms are for 3 years, with a maximum of 3 terms in a row.
