Democracy At A Moment Of Rupture

By Tim Hollo June 10, 2020

What do we do at moments of rupture in our politics? How can we work at this moment to build better democracy at the local level and the global, for all of us?

That was the starting point for this stimulating and inspiring conversation, the third in our Covid Democracy webinar series – From the Local to the Global and Back – featuring Associate Professor Carolyn Hendriks and former Senator Scott Ludlam.

Carolyn talked about democratic repair, rebuilding trust through participatory and deliberative democracy. And Scott took us through the building blocks of healthy democracy, what’s been systematically attacked, and how we can piece them back together.

I’m not sure any of us, at the start of the evening, expected it to be quite so uplifting and hopeful! But it truly was. It’s worth watching in full.
